Displays originally applied patches. The tapes and Aviator award are of 1960s vintage and appear to have been applied during the same period. The collar insignia is of 1980s vintage and have been applied for some time as shown by fabric pinching on the reverse. Likely worn in the 1960s, then later in the 1980s. 

The Aviation collar branch insignia pertains to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment "Night Stalkers". Established in 1981, the regiment is renowned for its ability to conduct highly classified missions, including direct action raids, reconnaissance, and personnel recovery, often under extreme conditions and in hostile environments. Operating helicopters like the MH-6 Little Bird, MH-60 Black Hawk, and MH-47 Chinook, the Night Stalkers excel in night-time, low-altitude operations.

The 160th played a key role in Operation Eagle Claw (1980), a failed mission to rescue American hostages in Tehran, Iran. The operation, hindered by mechanical failures and poor coordination, resulted in the deaths of eight servicemen and led to significant reforms in U.S. special operations.

A third pattern (P64) utility shirt with rounded pockets. Made from a soft, midweight 100% cotton selvedge sateen with a full-length button front closure and two chest pockets.

Excellent condition with light signs of wear - All buttons, fittings and fixtures are present. The contract label is present but faded.
